Growing in Unity - Day 5 and FWF Friday

Welcome to my 5th and final post for Growing in Unity week (sob sob) and this week's Friends with Flair Friday.

This is a layout of Jess after she ate an ice-cream last week and ended up in a bit of a mess LOL!!

I used stamps from the June 09 KOTM - Perfect in Every Way. I paper pieced the ice-cream and stamped the "You're Such A Treat" sentiment on patterned paper before adding the bookplate.

Materials used: Bazzill cardstock, DCWV papers and cardstock, Martha Stewart punch, brown Memento ink, Unity stamps, Making Memories bookplate, brads and photo anchors.
Also used: ribbon and a Craft Robo title.

Thanks for visiting my little corner of blog world and I hope you've enjoyed my week of Unity projects.

Don't forget to leave a comment to be in with a chance of winning a set of Unity stamps and you still have a chance to leave a comment on Tuesday's and Thursday's posts to win the giveaways!!

Growing in Unity - Day 4 + giveaway

Welcome to Day 4 of my Growing in Unity week.

Today my project is a bag that I decorated. It was a plain cotton bag that now looks like this:. (Apologies for the creases as I had to take the picture before the light faded!!)

I started by spraying some green Glimmer Mist in one corner of the bag and left it to dry.
I then stamped the flower image from the June 2010 store kit using Versacraft fabric ink. The image was then coloured with Promarkers before being backstitched in stranded cotton. Beads were then added to the flower centre.
As a finishing touch I added a length of wide ric-rac to the bottom of the bag.

Materials used: cotton bag, Glimmer Mist,  Unity stamp, Versacraft ink, Promarkers, stranded cotton, beads, ric-rac.

As per my other posts don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win stamps at the end of the week.

If you fancy winning this bag then leave a comment on this post before 11.59pm Sunday 15th and I'll draw a random winner on Monday.

Growing in Unity - Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of my "Growing in Unity" week.

Today my project is for the latest Unity Addicts Challenge which can be found in the Unity forum on SCS. The challenge this week is to make a diaper fold card as demonstrated by Beate here.

I used a sheet of 12" by 12" GCD Studios double-sided Artsy Urban paper to make the pouch and then decorated it with pompom trim, Artsy Urban transparencies, Prima bling and a Queen & Co brad.

I then made a set of 4 notecards to go in it:

I made each notecard 4.5" x 4.5" square and added a panel of the Artsy Urban paper with sewn edges. I then stamped a sentiment on to white card and then used Distress inks around the edges.
I stamped 2 birds from the Melody Ross set and cut them out before sticking them to the red and blue cards.
For the multicolour card I used Promarkers to colour in the sentiment.

Materials used: Papermill white linen cardstock, GCD Studios Artsy Urban papers and transparencies, black Memento ink, Promarkers, Ranger Distress inks, Prima crystals, Queen & Co brad, black Sakura pen.
Also used: pompom trim

Unity stamps used: "May you live..." from March 09 KOTM - Simple Life
"Just Be You" from the Scrapbook Royalty set - Just Be You
"It's not the Years..." from May 2010 Store kit - Moments in Bloom
"There comes a point..." from the {ippity} set - Delightful Little Things

Thanks for visiting me and if you missed yesterday's post, leave a comment as there's a goody bag up for grabs.
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for Day 4 of my Growing in Unity week when I'll be having another giveaway!!!

Growing in Unity - Day 2 + giveaway

Welcome to Day 2 of my Growing in Unity week.

My project today is an 8.5" x 11" layout of Jess. The photo was taken a couple of weeks ago after we'd been to pick up the boys from school. The rain had been bucketing down and even though we had waterproofs on we got absolutely soaked.

I stamped the clouds from "A Pocket Full of...." on to various patterned papers before cutting them out and layering them. The sun from the same kit was stamped straight on to the cardstock and then coloured with Promarkers before being journalled in.
The "rain, rain go away" from Adventures in Happiness was stamped on to the layout using chalk ink.

Materials used: Bazzill cardstock, Papermania "Summer Garden" patterned papers and fabric ribbons, Unity stamps (as above), black Versafine ink, Promarkers, Versamagic chalk ink, Heidi Grace plastic embellishments and pink alphabet stickers, Making Memories tiny alphabet stickers, My Mind's Eye buttons, Maya Road ribbon, black Sakura pen.

I have a bag of goodies to give away today including some of the Maya Rd ribbon, Heidi Grace embellishments and buttons like the ones used on this layout.
I'll draw a random winner from all comments left by Sunday 15th 11.59pm GMT and post the winners name on Monday.

Growing in Unity

Today is the beginning of my Growing in Unity week!!!

For those of you who don't know this is when a Unity fan showcases projects made with Unity stamps for the 5 days Monday - Friday on their blog.....this week it's me.... woo-hoo!!!

Make sure to leave a comment each day as each comment will be entered in to a draw and the lucky winner will receive some fabulous stamps from Angela at Unity.
I may be having the odd giveaway too!!

My first thing to show you this week is this altered clipboard which I'm hanging above my desk and sticking my "to do" notes on.
I bought a plain chipboard bingo board for £1 and decorated it.

I started by completely covering the chipboard using a thick black permanent pen.
The images from Just Be You and One Precious Life were then stamped and embossed with either white or green embossing powder.
I then added the lace, flowers and beading and tied ribbons on.

Materials used: bingo clipboard, Unity stamps from the One Precious Life set and Just Be You, Essential Glue pad, Wild Orchid crafts paper roses, Making Memories ribbons.
Also used: green and white embossing powders, cotton lace, pom pom trim, beaded string, ribbons.

Thanks for visiting today and don't forget those comments!! Come back tomorrow to see another Unity project!
