Plymouth geocaching

We did some more local geocaching during the week. I've lived here for years and not taken any photos of either the Tamar Bridge (which coincidentally I used to work on) or the Royal Albert Bridge until this walk:

Three tors

Geocaching last weekend was over three tors ; Lowery Tor, Sharpitor and Leather Tor. There was some pretty rough terrain and lots of clambering over rocks but it was great fun and we covered 5 miles.

I found a couple of sticks en route that the kids used as trekking poles but then ended up buying them proper ones a day later in the outdoors shop.

Anyway here's a few pics from the walk:

Cox Tor

A 4.5 mile geocaching walk on Sunday this week. We couldn't go out on Saturday as Jamie was at a birthday bash so went "in to town" instead. I also went for a couple of walks on the Thursday and Friday with the OH as he had a few days off work. That was a bit of a novelty with no kids around, I can tell you!! I didn't get many photos on those days though due to the slightly inclement weather....if I'd got my camera out I think it would have needed a lifejacket!

Anyway here's a few pics from Sunday's trip to Cox Tor. There were some fabulous views from up there...we even managed to see the Tamar Bridge!

Laughter Tor

More geocaching on Sunday which ended up as a 4.5 mile walk!! This time we were up and around Laughter Tor:

After a long and difficult slog uphill LOL!!

Guess who fell over?!

Looking unimpressed!

Matt told Jess this was where the Seven Dwarves live!!

Me and stepping stones do not mix and I had to go over these twice!!!!

Cadover

We went out later than normal today but still walked about 3.5 miles and found 4 geocaches. The walk back to the car was a bit of an adventure scrabbling over rocks and barbed wire fences, bogs and tree trunks!!

Burrator

Ok - so we seem to have become fans of geocaching recently which has, in turn, led to me taking tons of photos. Here are some from when we went to Burrator:

I seem to be a bit late with my blogging recently....blame it on Wimbledon and the school summer fayre!!!
