A Baby is........... (MTDS and DCM)

My card that I made for the Make The Day Special blog today was inspired by the latest challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers blog - Material Girl. I haven't played along on the DCM blog for a while but this challenge caught my eye.

I stamped the sentiment stamp on to the pink gingham fabric using a Faber Castell big brush marker and then sewed around the fabric before fraying the edges. I made a background panel for the card using some more fabric which I sewed before sticking on to the card.

The flower was made using organza fabric and I used a vintage button for the centre.

Materials used: American Crafts cardstock, fabrics, Unity stamp from "The Right Words" available here, Faber Castell big brush marker, organza, vintage button, Dress Me Up button, pleated ribbon.

DCM - Golden Highlights

The dare over at DCM this week was to use gold so of course I had to find some way of incorporating the use of my new Cuttlebug!

Used: Papermill cardstock, gold foil, gold paper, Creative Cafe rub-on and unknown make of ribbon.

Crafting is becoming slightly more difficult now as Jess is fully mobile! She had been rolling around the room or doing a commando crawl but has now mastered proper crawling and is getting around like a bat out of hell so I need to have eyes in the back of my head!!

DCM - In the frame

This week's challenge over at Daring Cardmakers was to use a frame. While I was tidying all my stash last week I came across a pack of Kanban pearlescent die-cut frames that I bought at least 4 years ago and hadn't even opened so I decided to use those to make a Christmas card. However once I got started I couldn't stop and I ended up making quite a few!

Used: white card, Dovecraft Christmas paper, Studio G stamp, chalk ink, gingham ribbon, red pen and Kanban frame.

Used: DCWV card, DCWV paper from cardmaking kit, Studio G stamp, Prismacolor pencils, gingham ribbon, white pen and Kanban frame.

After taking the photo of this one I modified the card slightly by adding 4 white eyelets (one in each corner of the patterned paper). I realy must buy a silent setter so I can use eyelets in the evening when the kids are in bed!

Used: red card, green paper, DCWV patterned paper, Studio G stamp, Prismacolor pencils, Doodlebug ric-rac, Creative Imaginations rub-on and a Kanban frame.

Used: DCWV cardstock, Dovecraft patterned paper, Studio G stamp, chalk ink, snowflake brad, red ribbon and a Kanban frame.

Like before I added eyelets to this card too.

I did make a few more but realised I haven't taken photos of those. Will post tomorrow if I remember!

2 cards.

Here's the 2 cards from yesterday. This one was done for the DCM trio of Welsh barbers dare to use 3 die cuts on a card. As I don't have any type of die-cutter (sold my QK years ago) I had to go with punches instead. It's definitely not one of my best cards and not very inventive but it'll still be used at some point. Used: generic cardstock, KI Memories paper from Funky Paper Pad, Scalloped circle punch, Primas, DCWV brads, DCWV letter stickers, black Sakura pen. This was done for the Use Your Stash - Chatterbox challenge on UKScrappers.

Used: DCWV cardstock, Chatterbox papers, Penny Black stamped image, Prismacolor pencils, MM tiny Boho Chic alpha stickers and some pearlescent brads I've had for ages.

DCM - All Checked Out

Had a funny old day today - Jess has been really grouchy and sick a few times but is now tucked up in bed. Last night she managed to sleep for 7 hours before waking for a feed so hope she does that again tonight! Have done this week's DCM All Checked Out dare : using checks on a card.

I used: MAMBI Chester paper, MAMBI paper (old design), KI Memories Curly alphabet stamps, Brilliance black ink, KI Memories ribbon, Studio G stamp, Craf-T chalk and a Zig pen.

Off out for the day tomorrow - over to my parents house. Will be the first time Jess has been there so will be interesting to see how she reacts to different surroundings. Hoping to be back in the afternoon so we can have tea at home, get the kids to bed and I can have some crafting time!

Buttons!!!!

This week's dare over at DCM was to use something found in a haberdashery department so out came my buttons!!!(To say I have a few would be an understatement!) I used K&Co Hannah and K&Co Addison papers and just a few red buttons! The letters are K&Co Letters to Go and then the trim was the leftovers from an old UKS DT kit from a while back. All the buttons were sewn on by hand.

Two birds with one stone

Well, I've just finished this card which takes care of both the Sketch this cards #19 and the DCM text message challenge.
It's a 5" X 5" one using DCWV cardstock and MAMBI Scrappy Chic paper. The star was cut from Doodlebug vellum and then I wiped it with the Essential Glue Pad before brushing over with some Interference Blue Pearl-ex. The stickers are MM Boho Chic and Doodlebug Just my Type. Had another go with the new sewing machine too!!!
Off to have a lok for some more challenges now before my parents turn up (yes- I have done the cleaning!)
