Fab time

yesterday. Spent a great few hours with Maddy gossiping and having a lovely time. Hopefully we didn't scare her off and she'll pop in again another time! Was going to devote all of today to scrapping but my plans have now changed. Thius morning will be a trip to the Co-op for bread etc and then to the library to return a book that was due yesterday *Jo slaps her wrist*. Then back home and keep kids occupied for a few hours before taking OH's car to the garage to have a whole new exhaust system fitted. Hopefully we'll only be there for an hour until he comes down with my car and I can take the kids home while he waits for the car to be finished and pays for it. Tomorrow there's a family craft day organized by Sure Start (I think) and hoping to meet a friend and take the kids along to make Halloween masks and capes. It'll keep us busy for a few hours!

Not much to report....

First proper day of half-term and the kids seem intent on making each other's lives as miserable as possible! They did get to watch Star Wars this afternoon though which kept them quiet for a couple of hours. I've actually started my DT LOs for UKS! Yes -I'm scrapping again! Also on the subject of UKS got my last DT kit this morning courtesy of Bev at Banana Frog and can't wait to get started on it. Love all their stuff so to get some stamps is a bonus! Tomorrow I'm having a visit from the lovely Maddy from UKS. She was the first scrapper I ever met (back in August 2004) and she's in the area so coming to see us again. Really looking forward to catching up. Right, off to bed now!

Still not...

feeling 100%. Spent most of the time after the weekend with a runny nose, sore throat and temperature and ended up staying downstairs until about 5 in the morning as I just couldn't sleep even though I was totally knackered. Now sleeping but still have a hacking cough and sore throat and only just starting to get back in to actually doing things. Saying that I went in to town with my Mum on Wednesday , mainly to look for maternity trousers as most of my stuff doesn't fit any more. I don't have much money to spend at the moment so looking in Mothercare and Next etc was out but I did find a really lovely pair of black trousers in Peacocks and was also surprised to see that New Look has actually started their own maternity range too. I still find it funny that this is the first time I've had anything new in a couple of years and it's maternity stuff - would have preferred a nice pair of size 10 skintight jeans but I can dream can't I?!?!? We had a look in the new shopping centre that's only been open a couple of weeks but as far as I can see it's not really anything special and the only new shop I have any interest in is Faith - I could spend an absolute fortune in there on boots if I had the money. Half-term starts tonight so I have the pleasure of the boy's company next week. They've already decided that they want to watch the Star Wars films as Matthew had the Lego Star wars game for the X-box 360 for his birthday and the 2 of them have loved playing it. The only problem I have is trying to explain that the films we have are episodes 4,5, and 6 but not 1, 2 and 3. Would have been so much easier if they'd been made in the right order! Hoping that I may get some scrapping done soon. I have all my stuff for November's UKS DT to do as II haven't started that yet along with my entry for a DT comp and a pile of ATCs for a CHristmas ATC swap I'm hosting. I keep having loads of ideas for the ATCs so at this rate I could end up making them all different once I get in to doing them. In the meantime, today is for trying to catch up on all the laundry that I haven't done this week. It had got to the stage where the pile of stuff on top of the basket was nearly as tall as the basket itself so I'm trying to clear the backlog. Looks like most of it will end up on clothes horses around the house though as it's quite grey and miserable here today with mist and that really fine "wet" rain LOL!

Busy as a bee......

.......well in theory I should be!!! My in-laws are coming later on today to stay for the weekend and I'm supposed to be cleaning but so far today I've only managed to do one load of washing and go to Asda to stock up on tons of bread for the weekend. Probably won't be able to get on here over the weekend so will see you on Monday!

Where did...........

the weekend go?!?! It seems to have passed me by! Haven't done much apart from one LO and made an engagement card, walked to the local shop twice and slept a lot along with the usual amount of laundry done, meals made, kids dressed, kids put to bed...........

Here's the LO - Mum with me and my little brother back in about 1976 - you've got to love that bikini haven't you!!!LOL!

Before I go on can I just say thankyou to all of you who have congratulated me on our news! Thankyou! Not long til we get to tell the family now.

Have a bit of a busy week ahead of me and have had to write a list now of everything I need to do each day otherwise I know I'll forget - at the moment I have the memory of a sieve. It's Matthew's 5th birthday on Wednesday and I have to finish present-buying (have money sent from Grandparents to buy pressies with) and sort out the catering for his "birthday tea". He's not having an actual party as such, because he'd hate having loads of people in the house but just has a coupl e of close friends coming for tea.

I also have to attend the Governor's AGM on Tuesday night and get shopping/clean house/get organized for my in-laws coming on Friday for the weekend. I'm just so glad that I love them to bits and we get on like a house on fire - I'm looking forward to seeing my MILs reaction when we break the news on Saturday too!

Right - off to bed now as we're back to the school routine in the morning.

OK - so...............

.........today I heard my baby's heartbeat for the first time!!!! I am now 14.5 weeks pregnant but the scan dates may put it back a couple of weeks so we're looking at end of March- mid April. So now you know why I've been so tired and not felt like scrapping much!! The kids don't know yet, neither do the rest of the family but as we're all getting together next week for Matthew's birthday we're going to tell them then.

Monday Monday.......

.....so good to me.... Monday mornin, it was all I hoped it would be..... OK enough of my tuneless singing trying to convince myself that it's a lovely Monday morning but I'm currently sitting here drying out having taken the kids to school. It really annoys me that we have to stay outside with the kids on mornings like this until the whistle goes and they're allowed in to their classrooms! Well the Governor's meeting went OK last week (if a wee bit boring!). We had a man in from the local council to talk about the new school that's being built next year to replace ours and another one.The meeting lasted 2 hours and to say that there was a slight divide between the LEA governors, teacher governors and parent governors is an understatement. Looks like we parents are classed as the lowest of the low! It's Matthew's first parent's evening tonight so looking forward to hearing what the teacher has to say about him. He does seem a lot more settled now compared to a couple of weeks ago and his confidence is getting better every day.

I actually did some scrapping this weekend and used some of those gorgeous glittery MAMBI monograms and I actually got to use pink too!!! See - I was cute once upon a time!!!

Hoping to get some more scrapping done today as I think my enthusiasm may have returned. I'm also sat in waiting for the postman as I'm hoping that an (very naughty) order I placed may come today - 4 lots of KI Memories sashes and a few sheets of Bazzill.

If you haven't already been on UKS don't forget to check out October's DT gallery - the theme this month was Heritage and we had a lovely kit from Just A Memory. Unfortunately my "something else" that I was doing had to be chucked out as it all went horribly wrong and now I have to explain to Matthew where his sticker box went! Ooopss!!!
