YUM!!!

My latest purchase (and the first for a while) arrived this morning and amazingly I haven't started using them yet!!! 3 sets of gorgeous MAMBI monograms - Chester, Chester glitter and Walter Knabe.
Hopefully I'll get around to using them tomorrow - I have a real penchant for any type of letters and have hundreds of sheets of letter stickers, 6 packs of MAMBI monograms, tons of MM and Scrapworks rub-on letters and just the odd few sets of alphabet stamps - well OK about 35 now!!!
Tomorrow afternoon is my first full Governors meeting at the kids school so am feeling quite nervous. The kids get to attend a special creche being held in school so at least I don't have to worry about them. The only problem is that we'll have to have a very late tea and the kids may have to go to bed later - that and the fact that Jamie misses his weekly Beavers meeting as there's no way he can get there so he's not very pleased about that!

Tagged by Beth

The lovely Beth has tagged me: 10 things that have terrified me 1. Most fairground rides apart from the Ghost Train. 2. The thought of anything happening to any of my family. 3. Heights - even ladders. 4. Having to speak in front of lots of people. 5. My first proper job interview. 6. Any terrorist attack especially 9/11 and 7/7. 7. Spiders 8. The thought of ever losing the use of my hands or my eyes. 9. When I was on shift when a riot broke out at a detention centre that I was working in. 10. The thought that people might not like me.

Yay!!!

Another quiet weekend and not done too much. I have managed to actually do a LO and I know it's nothing to write home about and won't win any awards for originality but hey! it's the first time I've actually done a LO in over a month that I didn't have to do! I did do a bit of re-organizing of some of my craft stuff yesterday as I now have an old 4 drawer bedside cabinet that I'm using as storage for all my 12 x 12 cardstock. this has freed up loads of room on my desk as I had it all standing up in cut-down pizza boxes (like the Cropper Hopper storage).

Matthew is staying longer at school tomorrow - until 1.30 so I've just made him what could pass as a packed lunch. I need to speak to his teachers in the morning and ask them not to psh him if he doesn't eat as he'll just dig his feet in even further and refuse to eat a thing. He's so stubborn and I don't know where he gets it from!

So - I'll have 4.5 hours to myself tomorrow!

A new beginning........

A new blog for me and a new school term for the boys - Matthew is starting in the Reception class and Jamie going into Year 2. I'm slightly worried about Matthew as he doesn't like change and can often be quite stubborn and refuse to do things until they're the way he likes them but we'll just have to wait and see. He's only going in for the morning for this week then next week he has his packed lunch at school and I pick him up after that and then the following week he's into a full school day. I think that'll be when it hits me that he's started school as I've been so used to him not being here in the mornings following his 2 years at nursery.
Jamie I'm not worried about at all - he loves school and is dying to learn new things. I'm hoping this year that his abilities are stretched slightly more than last year.
As for me, I have a lot of reading to do "A Guide to the Law for School Governors" - somehow I don't think that's bedtime reading so I'll save it for during the day while the kids are out of the house.
I'm also hoping that now the kids are back at school I may be able to get some scrapping done. I have a gorgeous UKS Design Team kit from Just a Memory sat on my desk and waiting for inspiration to strike so I can have a play with it. My time on the Design Team will run out at the end of this year and although I've enjoyed the challenges we've faced and am grateful for the opportunity being given to me I'm looking forward to being able to scrap "just for me" and not having any DT or magazine work to do.
