Porker!!!

Jess was weighed today by the midwife and is now 9lb 8oz!!! Mummy's milk seems to be hitting the right spot! We've now been discharged from the midwife's care and will be meeting our Health Visitor on Monday. Haven't got around to uploading any photos as it's OH's job to sort out the camera and he hasn't done it yet. *rolleyes* As soon as he does it I'll stick some more pics up. Not getting much time in bed still - a while 50 minutes last night although I did manage to get an hour this morning after taking the boys to school.

Not around much

at the moment as my dear daughter is not sleeping at night at all. I saw my bed for 20 minutes last night and now at nearly 2.00pm I have only just switched on the PC - for those of you who know me you'll know that is completely not me!!! Jess is doing really well though and only dropped 2.5 ounces in her first week so the feeding must be going OK. She is still looking a bit bruised and battered following her entrance into this world and has a black eye and a bruise behind her right ear along with the cut head but her jaundice has almost disappeared now. Will try to post a few more pics tomorrow. Thankyou to everyone who has sent cards and gifts - they are all very much appreciated and both Jess and I feel very lucky and privileged to have so many people out there we can call our friends. Squishy hugs to you all xxxxx

Pink!!!!!

First time to dress Jess in pink today:
Her jaundice is slowly going away and she's feeding like a trooper although saying that she hadn't "done a poo" for a couple of days and we were beginning to get a bit worried. I stayed up with her nearly all of last night - was only in my own bed for half an hour - and spent most of the night feeding her and changing her bum when she did actually manage to go - 5 times!!!!! Got given loads of clothes today by one of the other Mums up at school so we now have tone of outfits for her. We just need somewhere to put them all now as the lounge is rapidly beginnning to look like a wardrobe!

A few more pics for you:

My beautiful (and slightly jaundiced girl!)
Matthew and Jessica

Jamie and Jessica

Mum came over today to meet her new grand-daughter properly for the first time, bringing with her some gorgeous outfits - Baby Rocha and Jasper COnran!!!!

Also had a gorgeous outfit and little shoes from a friend of mine, Lisa along with some lovely dresses from my neighbour Debbie. Will have to take some photos of them all tomorrow.

Neil's parents are coming down to stay for a couple of days tomorrow - looking forward to seeing them as we get on really well. Have also got my Tesco shopping being delivered (thank God for free delivery vouchers!) and we're off to register Jess's birth at the Registry Office in the afternoon.

Please welcome:

Jessica Joanne Hulbert born on 15/04/07 at 13:47 weighing 8lb 14oz.
Labour had been going OK until I got to 10cm and needed to push. No matter how hard I pushed or for how long nothing was moving so after 3 hours (yes 3 hours) of pushing it was decided that I needed to go to theatre and have a spinal where they would try to do a ventouse delivery or forceps if that didn't work and if all else failed - a C-section which was my worst possible nightmare. They thought that the baby was big and that's why it wasn't coming out properly.
Turns out that in theatre (after they tried for about half an hour to give me a spinal- while telling me not to move (not easy when your contractions are one after the other!) and then resorting to giving me an epidural, failing to get her out with the ventouse and breaking the skin on the back of her head with it, that they eventually managed with forceps. The reason she wouldn't come out was that the cord was wrapped around her neck twice so every time I pushed nothing happened as the cord was pulling her back again!
Now my beautiful girl is OK but with a large patch of broken skin on the back of her head and forceps bruise on her face but ... she's still gorgeous!!!!!!

Going nowhere fast!!

Just been to see my midwife who had been about to suggest a membrane sweep to try and start me off but seeing as baby's head isn't actually engaged at all there doesn't seem to be any point. I've still got to play the waiting game but seeing as Jamie was 5 days late and Matthew was 8 days late I should have forseen that anyway! Suppose I ought to go off and do something to keep my mind occupied now! Finished a LO yesterday so am all free to start another one now. This is Jamie when he had chickenpox last year and spent 2.5 weeks off school. At one point he was so bad with a high temperature and not eating or drinking that I ended up calling a Dr out on a home visit for him. Luckily he hasn't been left with too many scars. Got to use my lovely KI Memories stamps (bubbletter and disco dots) for the title. Unfortunately my sewing machine is still not working properly - I had wanted to sew all around the edges of the patterned paper.

Off to start another LO now or put my feet up for a while as the kids are both plating out in the garden.

Must add my congratulations to Marja and Kirk who today became the proud parents of Noemie Catherine.

Still waiting.....

and waiting and waiting and waiting!!!!! Didn't do much at all over the weekend, in fact I didn't get dressed until lunchtime on Saturday having spent all morning lying on the sofa watching tv! Neil has fitted the carpet in the baby's room and it looks lovely, of course I had to keep going in to smell that lovely new carpet smell. Managed to do 1 LO over the weekend:

Matthew loving his Star Wars. I actually handcut the title - first time I'd done one of those in a while and then embossed the edges. Found it quite therapeutic too!

Have started work on another LO but my sewing machine decided to "give up the ghost" while in the middle of the LO so may have to change my plans for it.

Neil also installed WIndows Vista on our PC over the weekend so we've been having fun trying to find our way around everything and teaching each other when we find new features. Have to say that I think we're both quite liking it so far *touch wood*!

This old boiler has a new boiler!!!!!

Woo-hoo!!!!! Without having to fork out a penny! Bless the people that thought up the Warm Front scheme. Went for my midwife appointment on Monday and everything is looking good. Baby is still the right way although the head isn't yet engaged. Midwife reckons it'll be between late 9's and early 10's in the weight stakes!!! Doesn't bother me too much as Matthew wasn't far off 9lbs. Just been out with the kids to Morrisons and stocked up on some bits to keep us going if baby does arrive soon *fingers crossed* and now off to do some scrapping. The boys have both started scrapping themselves in the past couple of days so I'll try to scan their LOs and upload them later.

10 days to go

but it's bound to be late. !!! Have a midwife appointment this morning and will enjoy showing her my scan results that say baby is defiinitely head down, hopefully it'll come out to play soon!!! My parents are coming over later to sit with the boys while I go for my appointment as the "men" are coming to fit the new boiler today too!! YAY!!! No more forking out money to get it fixed all the time. Had a bit of a funny day on Saturday and didn't get much done as I was fairly sick in the morning but by lunchtime felt absolutely fine! Bit late for morning sickness to start! Yesterday we went out to look for a neutral carpet for the baby's room and actually found a remnant that was the perfect colour and size with 60% off so only cost £23! Couldn't fit it in my car so Neil is going to pick it up after work one day this week and then that's his project over Easter. We also took the kids to McDonalds for their last "pre-baby" treat and they loved the fasct they had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in their Happy Meals so of course have been playing with them non-stop. Bit light on the scrapping front but did manage to do a quick LO over the weekend:

This was a fab picture that Matthew drew a few months ago of Sportacus from Lazytown. Unfortunately after he drew it he started to colour all the background in with the same blue so I had to grab the picture of f him and scan it quickly then try and use Photoshop to erase the background before giving him the pic back!

Oh!!!! Just remembered what else I've done - Packed my hospital bag!!!
