Thank heaven for ....

.......bean bags!!!!! Jess has been impossible to settle during the daytime over the past few days and would only sleep while lying on top of me which, although it was lovely, was proving a bit of a bind as I couldn't do anything and the housework and laundry was piling up so quickly. Yesterday OH hit on the idea of lying her down on top of the kids bean bag and ,lo and behold, she slept in it for a good couple of hours! Up until then we'd tried her cot, moses basket, pushchair and her bouncing chair but none of them would do. I don't know if the bean bag feels like she's still being cuddled but it works!!!!!! This afternoon while she's been asleep I've actually finished a LO I've had on the go for about a week and also made 2 thankyou cards - will have to post them later after I've scanned them (oh and sorted out the washing, made tea and sorted the boys out!)

A couple more...

Jess in her first bit of designer gear!!! A John Rocha dress bought by my Mum.
And Jess slobbing out in her bouncy chair - she can usually manage to go to sleep in here within three minutes of us rocking it gently. Will be back to update more in the next couple of days - needless to say I've been a bit busy recently but believe it or not it will be easier now that the boys are on half-term and I don't have the school runs to do!!

Piling it on!!!!

Had Jess weighed at the baby clinic this afternoon and she was 11 lbs 1/2oz!!! She has a slight heat rash on her tummy so keeping an eye on that but doing great otherwise. I also swear she smiled at me properly this afternoon for the first time but couldn't grab the camera in time! Went out this morning and bought a new breast pump. I had an Avent one for the boys but lent it to someone along with my steriliser and didn't check everything was there when she returned it - sod's law said that half the breast pump was missing when I got it out the other day. I had a Medela one that was provided by the local breastfeeding group but couldn't get on with it at all so this morning meant a trip to Toys R Us to buy a new one. Have tried it out this afternoon and has worked brilliantly so Jess can try a bottle again later.

Love this photo of her gazing up at Daddy - bless her!!!

After he read my blog yesterday OH has sorted out the camera for me so I now have a few more photos to upload - thanks sweetie!!! xxxxx

Still here!!!!

So I've been very lax in updating my blog recently but I have been somewhat busy with the newest member of the house! Last night we tried her on expressed milk in a bottle for the first time and she drank it all - YAY - so we're going to give her a bottle of expressed milk every day. Both the boys had trouble drinking from a bottle as well as breastfeeding so when I saw the new Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles I bought one to try and have to say it's brilliant! Will definitely be buying some more of them. Jess is starting to settle in to some sort of routine although she does have "off" days occassionally when all my planning for the day goes out fo the window. Yesterday though she slept for most of the day (probably because she didn't go to sleep until midnight the night before!) so I managed to get my stash out for the first time since she was born:

It feels so strange to be searching for pink stash to use on a LO! Thankfully my wonderful OH went shopping the day he picked us up from the hospital and I was presented with a large bag of pink stuff from my local craft shop (which he went to with the kids) as he thought I'd appreciate stash more than a bunch of flowers - how right he was!!

Saying that though I have managed to place an order at Craft Obsessions this week for a stack of pink Bazzill which duly turned up the day after ordering - fab service and will definitely buy from them again! Have also picked up a few things on Ebay this week like the Deja Views girl sticker stack.

Hopefully will be back later to update with some more photos - Neil if you're reading this you need to sort out the camera!!!!

I should be scrapping

as I now have some photos to scrap with but thought I'd better come on here and post some first! Jess is still doing great and is fairly placid. She is going to bed at about 9.30 at night but then wakes up for her first fees at midnight and every 2-3 hours after that. I'm sure she's going to smile in the next few days as she's come awfully close a couple of times: Now you can really see what colour her hair is!!! I was this colour when I was born and so was my Grandma.

Here she is in one of her favourite places - on Neil!

So they don't feel left out here's a picture of Jess' gorgeous big brothers! I can't believe howgrown up they both look here!

Doing well

Jess was weighed on friday and was 10lb exactly! She also had her hearing test which was absolutely fine and I was really pleased that we actually had a lovely Health Visitor! The boys love her to bits and Matthew follows me every time I take her upstairs to change her bum or bath her. He also asks for cuddles with her all the time. Jamie is a little less enamoured and seems to be playing up a bit. The other morning he told me that he wanted to go and live with Granny and Pops as it wasn't fun at home any more. Hopefully once things have settled down a bit and we're more in a routine then things will start getting better. Tomorrow I think we're hoping to go and buy a computer workstation and a wireless modem for the boys to have the old PC in their room. At least then we'll have loads more room in the sitting room as at the moment it looks like PC World!!! I'm hoping Jess settles in to some sort of routine soon as I'm desperate to get some scrapping done. I put a Photobox order in today so should be getting some photos next week and I'm raring to go with the pink stuff! Spent a while today trawling around scrap shops filling up my virtual baskets with all things pink and lilac and flowery! Could have easily spent a fortune!!

A few more

Well, we now have a new camera (Panasonic FZ8) so busy trying to get used to it!! Here's a couple more photos for you:
