Tomorrow is the first full day of the boys being off for half-term so we have plans to make a jelly for eating after tea and also using some of the cake mixtures we have sitting in the cupboards - that's if they behave themselves!
MIL is coming to stay tomorrow but only for one night so will update after the weekend. The boys finished school today for half-term and go back a week Monday. We have plans to do some baking and Jamie has to complete a project about Sir Francis Drake so that could mean a few outings, a library visit or some online research. It's also Jamie's birthday on the 2nd so he's got that to look forward to.

Here's my post from yesterday at It's a Creative World:
I don't know about you but I love felt - it's so versatile, comes in loads of colours, is so easy to sew and is great as embellishments for card making and scrapbooking. Here's what I've been making with it recently. First I cut my felt into the shapes I wanted. This was easily done by drawing around some chipboard but you could use any shape or template that you like:
I then started decorating the felt using whatever I had to hand. To begin with I blanket-stitched around the edge of the heart using some fibres that I've had in my stash for years before adding a couple of sequins.
For the flower I backstitched all around the inside before sewing beads in the middle and for the star I used beads again but in bright contrasting colours.
You can use anything you have to hand. Here I used eyelets , more beads, strung sequins, buttons and brads. Once you've made your felt embellishments you can add them to anything. Here's a couple of quick examples:
So go on - I hope I've inspired you to dig out those pieces of felt and see what you can make!
It started off as the naffest ( and cheapest - only 50p!) picture frame imaginable:
I "dampened" down the print by painting it all with cream acrylic paint before covering the whole thing with plain calico. I then stuck various Primas (some stamped) in 2 corners and added buttons, beads, brads and sequins to the flower centres. Then I lightly stamped some flourishes with pale green chalk ink.
I used: Bazzill cardstock, My Mind's Eye Wild Asparagus papers, 7Gypsies chipboard label, Quickutz Blossom mini die-cut alphabet, Quickutz Daisy skinni-mini die-cut alphabet, various Prima flowers, Heidi Grace flourish stamp, Versamagic in, beads, sequins, pearl stones, Making Memories safety pin, MM jump ring, charm, Inkadinkado flourish stamp, Marcella metal embellishment. Also used: wide pink Nottingham lace, thinner white lace, pearl beading and oyster shell buttons from The Ribbonrie.

I was fortunate enough to have been asked by Heather to create some bits for her site gallery so have been happily playing with some gorgeous stash and will hopefully be able to share with you soon.
If you do go shopping make sure you read the front page of Heather's site to see how she is raising money for Cancer Research UK - a charity close to my heart.
