GC79: Stitching and another PDCC#56

The challenge for Gingersnap Creations 79 was to use stitching. After joining in with The Play Date Cafe Challenge 56 I loved the colours and decided to use them again.

My needles were all kept in an old tobacco tin and I have difficulty trying to find the one I want so decided to make a needlecase incorporating sewing and the PDCC colours.

I started by making the case using 3 pieces of felt in the PDCC colours and then using blanket stitch around the cover. I stamped using one of the Sam Poole stamps on to a panel of calico and then sewed around the edges of this before fraying the edges and then sewing on to a panel of felt and then on to the needlecase. I then added a sewing charm that I've had for ages, some buttons, beads and sequins.

Materials used: felt, calico, Creative Expressions stamp, brown Memento ink, stranded cotton, vintage buttons, metal charm, sequins, beads.
